The Very Small Observatory

Welcome to the

VSO

Ancaster, ON Canada

Latitude- 43°13'N

Longitude- 79°59'W

Altitude- 243M

The VSO is located in a very light polluted area. Therefore we broadcast using high sensitivity CCD camera's or we go to a darker more rural place in our area. With the big city lights and neighbours, it makes the sky turn a bright orange called "Sky Glow" which can have an effect with deeper more fainter objects.

This website will explain the observatory in greater detail and the equipment we use. Also you can find our blog, pictures and videos taken by our observatory, a guest book, and the by-far coolest page a LIVE WEBCAST OF THE NIGHT SKY, through our Celestron 130 SLT Computerized Telescope and or Celestron NexImage CCD Camera.
